Liverpool's Danny Ings: 'Jurgen Klopp knows I will not slack off in my recovery'

Liverpool striker Danny Ings insists that he will not 'slack off' during his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

Liverpool striker Danny Ings has insisted that there is no danger of him "slacking off" during his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Reds from Burnley in the summer transfer window, was struck down with an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a training session three weeks ago.

Ings is likely to miss the rest of the season, but is determined to stick to his rehabilitation schedule to ensure that he returns as early as possible.

"Being here at Liverpool it is going to be important to make sure I'm eating right, sleeping right, taking my vitamins, doing my gym work, icing my knee and resting every day," the Liverpool Echo quotes Ings as saying.

"Otherwise you are playing catch up. You have to be more dedicated when you are injured because there is more of a mountain to climb to reach the top. I think [Klopp] knows he doesn't have to worry about me slacking off."

Liverpool are currently 10th in the Premier League table after 12 games.
