Daniel Sturridge misses Basel trip

Daniel Sturridge has not travelled to Switzerland with his Liverpool teammates for tomorrow night's Champions League clash against Basel.

The 25-year-old has missed his side's last five matches with a thigh complaint, although some reports had suggested that he may be fit enough to feature at St Jakob-Park.

However, the England international did not board the plane, which left England earlier today.

Liverpool drew 3-3 on their last visit to Basel back in 2002.
