Former West Bromwich Albion striker Lee Hughes joins Ilkeston

Northern Premier Division side Ilkeston have completed the signing of veteran striker Lee Hughes.

The 39-year-old has scored in the club's last two pre-season friendlies against Gresley FC and Belper Town.

"We have a young squad here at Ilkeston and Lee will add that bit of experience to the side and help guide the players on the pitch," manager Gavin Strachan told the club's official website.

Hughes has played for a host of professional teams during his career, including West Bromwich Albion, Coventry City, Port Vale and Oldham Athletic.
