Harry Redknapp confirms there are "no signs" of Luka Modric leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has insisted that there is "no sign" of Luka Modric leaving the club before the transfer window closes.

The Croatian midfielder has been the subject of two bids from Chelsea this summer and reports have suggested that the Blues are preparing a third offer for the player.

Speculation has been fuelled further today by Redknapp confirming that Modric would miss tomorrow's Europa League qualifier against Hearts with an injury.

However, the boss has revealed that no bid has been submitted for Modric recently and that the club are hoping to add to the squad shortly.

"I don't know where it's at and Daniel [Levy, chairman] has said all along that he is not going to sell Luka so that is probably it as far as I know," Redknapp said.

"There is no sign of him going. If he doesn't go it's an area we need to strengthen and we have one or two irons in the fire.

"We are trying [to sign players]. We have some names and we are trying to get one or two in. We need to do a little bit of business," he added.

Spurs are currently in discussions with Manchester City and former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor over a loan move.
