The agent of Porto defender Alvaro Pereira says that his client does not want to move to the Premier League.

The agent of Porto defender Alvaro Pereira has claimed that his client does not want to move to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe, has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.

However, Flavio Perchman told calciomercato.it: "Inter Milan and Napoli interest? We have not received any official proposals. One day he is on his way to Naples, the next Chelsea.

"Obviously we are pleased that his name is being linked with big clubs, but at the moment there are no official offers. The player prefers the Premier League? I never said anything like that. It is not true and I have not spoken to the Portuguese press about that.

"I think that leagues like the English and Italian ones are possible destinations for Alvaro, but he has no preference. The important thing is that it is a competitive club."

Pereira has 39 Uruguay caps to his name.
