Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico is reportedly determined to force a move to Barcelona next week.

Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico is reportedly desperate to force a move to Barcelona before the January transfer window closes for business.

The 29-year-old has again been a regular for the Dutch giants during the 2021-22 campaign, making 15 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist in the process.

Tagliafico has entered the final 18 months of his contract in Amsterdam, though, and there have been suggestions that he will leave the club before the end of the month.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine is pushing to secure a move to Camp Nou, with Barcelona looking to sign the full-back on loan.

However, the report claims that Ajax want him to leave on a permanent basis, as the South American's value will decrease when he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the defender during the winter window.
