Football Association interviews Mark Clattenburg over Chelsea allegations

FA interviews Mark Clattenburg

The Football Association has interviewed referee Mark Clattenburg over allegations that he used "inappropriate language" towards Chelsea players during last month's defeat to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

English football's governing body is in the process of interviewing a number of people in order to decide whether to formally charge the official. A decision is expected next week.

Chelsea accused Clattenburg of verbally abusing Jon Obi Mikel and Juan Mata during the match on October 28, but they later dropped the claims involving Mata due to insufficient evidence.

The Metropolitan Police are also investigating the incident.
