Fernando Torres: 'Confidence is high'

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres reveals that he is full of confidence after scoring the winning goal during Sunday's Premier League win over Manchester City.

Fernando Torres has revealed that his confidence is high after scoring the winning goal for Chelsea during Sunday's Premier League win over Manchester City.

The Spanish striker netted for the first time in the league this season as the Blues earned a late 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Torres now hopes that he can continue to please the Chelsea fans with more goals for the rest of the campaign.

"I am feeling good and with high confidence, and feeling better in the system we are playing with more space," he told the club's official website.

"Hopefully we can keep improving as a team as it is just the beginning of the season and important games are coming.

"I felt the support for all the past and I am really happy for the fans, they can enjoy now with the team and with my goals and sometimes I feel they are even more happy with them than me, and hopefully they can see more of this this season."

Sunday's triumph lifted Chelsea up to second place in the Premier League table after nine matches.
