Chelsea see three more of their players test positive for coronavirus ahead of Thursday's clash with Everton at Stamford Bridge, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly had three more of their players test positive for coronavirus ahead of Thursday evening's Premier League clash with Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Mateo Kovacic recently tested positive for the virus and remains in self-isolation, but according to Goal, three more first-team players have contracted the illness.

The report claims that there is currently no indication whether Thursday's match with the Toffees is under threat, although the three players in question have been described as 'prominent'.

The unnamed trio immediately entered self-isolation upon receiving their positive tests but are believed to have trained alongside their teammates on Wednesday, as the Blues prepared for the game with Rafael Benitez's side.

Two of the players were allegedly set to be included in the squad on Thursday, meaning that head coach Thomas Tuchel will have to change his plans at the final moment should the match still go ahead.

Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford are among the Premier League clubs to recently suffer with COVID-19 outbreaks in their squad.
