Jurgen Klopp set to hand Joao Carlos Teixeira Anfield debut against Bournemouth

Teixeira set for Anfield debut?

Liverpool youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira could be in line for his Anfield debut when the Reds take on Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup fourth round tomorrow night.

Teixeira, 22, has only made one senior appearance for the Reds, having come on as a late substitute against Fulham in 2014.

The Liverpool Echo report that Jurgen Klopp could hand the Portugese attacking midfielder his full debut tomorrow night, as the German goes in search of his first win as Liverpool manager.

An £800,000 import from Sporting Lisbon back in 2012, Teixeira had an excellent loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion cut short last season when he suffered a broken leg in April.

Despite returning to Anfield early, the starlet was voted Brighton's Young Player of the Year and finished the campaign as the club's top scorer with six goals.

Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Jon Flanagan and Jordan Rossiter are all still sidelined for the Reds, who face Jose Mourinho's Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.
