Graeme Souness: 'Chelsea win was a sign of champions'

Chelsea's win at Queens Park Rangers is a "mark of champions", according to Graeme Souness.

Ex-footballer Graeme Souness has praised Chelsea's mental strength after they won 1-0 at Queens Park Rangers.

The Blues were far from their best at Loftus Road, but found a late winner through Cesc Fabregas to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points.

Souness told Sky Sports News: "I thought it would come from a set piece because the pitch didn't allow for their quick, accurate passing when they got in the last third. But that is the mark of champions, when you can win games without being anywhere near your best.

"It was windy, it was bobbly but they got there and that is the sign of champions. They've got that mental attitude where they think 'we will not lose today and somewhere down the line we will get a breakthrough and win 1-0', like they did."

Chelsea need to earn 12 more points to guarantee the Premier League title.
