Andre Villas-Boas says that he is committed to a three-year "project" of completely overhauling the structure of Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has said that he is committed to a three-year "project" of completely overhauling the structure of the club.

The Portuguese manager has come under fire recently for a string of poor results but has insisted that he has the backing of owner Roman Abramovich.

"From 2004 up to now has been the richest part of Chelsea's history for trophies and success," Villas-Boas said.

"But if you want to perpetuate that success into the future, you have to make changes.

"I can understand the speculation about my future. But we have a three-year project to change not only the team but also the culture and structure of the club."

Chelsea face Napoli in the Champions League tonight.
