Chelsea striker Diego Costa aggravates hamstring against Stoke City

Diego Costa aggravates his recurring hamstring injury 12 minutes after coming on as a substitute during Chelsea's Premier League match with Stoke at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's top scorer Diego Costa may not play again this season after aggravating his hamstring problem in this evening's match against Stoke City.

The 19-goal striker lasted only 12 minutes as a half-time substitute before pulling up with a reccurrence of an injury which has plagued his season.

He withdrew from international duty with Spain last week to rest and subsequent scans showed the damage to have cleared.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho did not risk him from the start at Stamford Bridge, but decided to gamble on his fitness after Charlie Adam pegged back the title favourites. with an equaliser from inside his own half.

However, he was soon limping off to be replaced by Didier Drogba. Follow Sports Mole's live text coverage of the match by clicking here.
