Frank Lampard: 'Bring on Real Madrid'

Frank Lampard insists that Chelsea do not fear being drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Chelsea's Frank Lampard has said that he does not fear being drawn against Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Both sides made it through to the last eight of the competition last night with 4-1 victories.

The veteran midfielder identified Real and their La Liga rivals Barcelona as the strongest quarter-finalists, but insisted that Chelsea is afraid of neither team, The Mirror reports.

"Barcelona are probably the strongest team, along with Real Madrid," he said. "With the football we can play, no one will want to come and play here and that's what matters.

"At Stamford Bridge, on our night, we do believe we can beat anyone. It's a very tough competition to win - as we know more than most.At times when we've been expected to win it in the past, we haven't.

"Who knows? The fact that we're underdogs [could help], but there's strong teams out there."

Chelsea are the only English side remaining in Europe after Manchester United and Manchester City crashed out of the Europa League this evening.

Mourinho previously said that he would relish taking on his former club in the Champions League final.
