Bordeaux midfielder Ludovic Obraniak has insisted that his side were in control of the Europa League last-16 tie against Benfica, despite losing 1-0.
He said that the scoreline can be overturned and that Bordeaux will give it everything in the return leg next week.
"It was a good performance on our part, as much in the level of our play as in our spirit," UEFA.com quotes Obraniak as saying. "It's a shame that we didn't make the most of it in the end as we had a lot of opportunities.
"All the same we were able to control the match, and we knew how to give this team problems. It's a shame we didn't get the goal that would have made it easier for us in the return leg, but it's only 1-0.
"It will be an open game, in front of our own crowd – it will be a great occasion and we have to go for it. We're counting on the Bordeaux fans to give us a hand in the return."
Obraniak has scored six goals in 25 appearances for Bordeaux this season.
