Arsenal 'join chase for Bernd Leno'

Arsenal are said to be ready to challenge a host of European suitors for the services of Bayer Leverkusen's Bernd Leno.

The Gunners have identified the Germany goalkeeper as a potential replacement for veteran stopper Petr Cech, according to Kicker.

Cech is not expected to call time on his playing career at the end of the season, but Arsenal are expected to recruit another stopper as the Czech international is now 35.

Arsene Wenger's side could face steep competition for Leno's signature, with Napoli and Atletico Madrid also rumoured to be circling the 26-year-old.

Leno made his senior international debut for Germany in 2015 and recently made the bench for his country when they lost 1-0 to Brazil.
