Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde will reportedly not block the exit of midfielder Ivan Rakitic before the end of the summer transfer window.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has reportedly given the green light for the sale of midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Despite a hugely successful five-year period at Camp Nou, Rakitic is no longer considered first choice, while Barcelona are open to cashing in on the Croatia international.

Valverde has allegedly been keen to keep the player in his first-team squad, even if the funds raised from his exit could help the Catalan giants secure a reunion with Neymar.

However, according to AS, Valverde is now happy for the 31-year-old to move elsewhere, providing that the La Liga champions receive a suitable offer.

Juventus are said to be interested in Rakitic, although they may have to sell before they can afford to push through another signing.

Rakitic still has just under two years remaining on his contract.
