Pedro: Gerard Pique "focused" on helping Barcelona

Pedro backs Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique to win back his place in the starting lineup amid talk linking the Spanish international with a move away from the club.

Pedro has insisted that Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique is "very focused" on the club amid speculation linking him with a move away from the Camp Nou.

The 27-year-old has found himself on the bench for large parts of the season, which sparked talk that the former Manchester United defender could make a return to the Premier League in January.

However, Pique has since ruled out any transfer, and Pedro says that the four-time La Liga winner is ready to win back his place in the team.

"He is focused and eager to help the team and has always been at a very good level," he told SPORT. "There has been much talk about it, but he is calm, focused and wants to help the team to improve. He is very focused in what he has to do."

Barcelona currently lead the way in the Spanish top flight having dropped just two points from their opening seven games.
