Barcelona 'reach compensation agreement with Koeman'

Barcelona have reportedly come to an agreement with former head coach Ronald Koeman over a compensation package.

The Dutchman was sacked by the Catalan giants at the end of October following a disappointing start to the 2021-22 campaign.

The two parties have since been in negotiations over the terms of the pay-off, and according to Marca, an agreement has now been reached.

The report claims that Koeman will receive a fee of €10m (£8.4m), which will save Barcelona €2m (£1.7m) amid their financial problems.

Koeman managed 67 games for the Catalan club between August 2020 and October 2021, boasting a record of 39 wins, 12 draws and 16 defeats.

The 58-year-old has since been replaced at the helm by Xavi, with the club's former midfielder leading the team to a 1-0 win over Espanyol in La Liga last weekend in his first match in charge.
