Jamie Carragher: 'Luis Suarez was made for Champions League final'

Jamie Carragher tips Luis Suarez to be the the match-winner in the Champions League Final between Barcelona and Juventus.

Former Champions League winning defender Jamie Carragher believes that Luis Suarez could be the difference for Barcelona as they prepare to take on Juventus in Berlin tonight.

Suarez had been due to go toe-to-toe with Giorgio Chiellini for the first time since the biting scandal which rocked last summer's World Cup, but the Italian defender has since been ruled out through injury.

However, Carragher believes that Suarez is mentally tough enough to deal with the occasion, as well as the clash with Juventus left-back Patrice Evra.

"Might there be anxiety about facing former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra, given their history?," Carragher told the Daily Mail.

"This is the type of match Suarez was made for. He has the ability to leave a glorious mark on it and it would not surprise me if we woke to headlines on Sunday declaring him the match-winner. If he plays as we know he can, that might just happen."

Suarez has scored 16 goals in 27 La Liga games in his debut season in Spain, as well as six goals in nine Champions League fixtures.
