Arsenal interested in Liege's Daniel Opare

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Standard Liege defender Daniel Opare.

The Ghana international has enjoyed a good season with Standard and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be a fan, according to The Sun.

Wenger is keen to add a defender to his squad this summer after seeing a number of his first team squad fall victim to injury this season.

Opare first moved to Europe with Real Madrid before being transferred to Standard in 2010.

The 21-year-old was in Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations squad but failed to make an appearance during the competition.
