David Luiz 'attempting to force Arsenal move'

Chelsea's David Luiz attempts to force a move to Arsenal before Thursday's transfer deadline, according to a report.

David Luiz reportedly did not train with Chelsea on Wednesday as the centre-back looks to force a move to Arsenal in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.

The departure of club captain Laurent Koscielny is expected to see Arsenal enter the transfer market to sign a new central defender before the deadline passes.

According to the Daily Mail, Luiz did not train alongside his Chelsea teammates on Wednesday as he attempts to force a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

The report claims that the Gunners are yet to make a formal offer for 32-year-old, although Unai Emery's side are expected to launch a bid 'imminently'.

Luiz, who re-joined Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2016, made 50 appearances for the Blues in all competitions during the 2018-19 campaign.

Frank Lampard's side, who take on Manchester United in their season opener this weekend, would be unable to sign a replacement for the Brazilian in the final stages of the window as the capital outfit are currently under a transfer ban.
