Arsenal to target new striker this summer?

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu are reportedly eyeing at least one new striker in the upcoming summer transfer market.

Arsenal are reportedly hoping to bring at least one new striker to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners managed to tie Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down to a new deal last summer, but the futures of their other three recognised centre-forwards are all up in the air heading into the 2021-22 campaign.

No positive progress has been made over Folarin Balogun's long-running contract saga, while Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are both struggling for starts and being tipped to leave - with the latter reportedly a target for Atletico Madrid and Monaco.

As a result, The Mirror speculates that manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu could work to bring more than one player to the Emirates to spearhead the Gunners' attack for the new season.

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is being heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium as an exit from the Scottish side looks increasingly likely, while the report also adds that the Gunners could look to swoop for Andre Silva, who is also understood to be wanted by Manchester United.

A recent report claimed that Lacazette has also been offered to Barcelona and Juventus as his time at the Emirates appears to be nearing an end.
