Arsenal are planning to launch a surprise bid for Sunderland's Stephane Sessegnon, according to reports.
German international Lukas Podolski is being joined at the Emirates by French striker Olivier Giroud and Spanish star Santi Cazorla, but Sessegnon is also a target for the Gunners, according to The People.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to boost his attacking options and the Benin international impressed with a string of impressive displays for the Black Cats last season.
The 26-year-old signed for Sunderland from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2011.
