Arsenal join Jan Vertonghen chase

Arsenal have reportedly joined Tottenham Hotspur in the chase to land Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.

Spurs had been the favourites to sign the £10m-rated Belgian.

However, the 24-year-old was at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday to watch the Gunners' 3-0 win over AC Milan in the Champions League, according to The Mirror.

Vertonghen attended the game to support his former Ajax teammate and fellow countryman Thomas Vermaelen.

The centre-back has openly said that he is ready for a move to the Premier League.
