Benfica forward Darwin Nunez emerges as a transfer target for Arsenal, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.

The Gunners are expected to be in the market for a big-money striker next summer, with both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah potentially leaving the club in search of pastures new.

Mikel Arteta's side have been strongly linked with Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic, but the North London club are seemingly down the pecking order when it comes to the Serbian.

According to Trasposos, Arsenal have joined Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in pursuit of Nunez, who has been in impressive form for his Portuguese outfit during the 2021-22 campaign.

The 22-year-old has managed 11 goals in 16 appearances at club level this term, including three in five Champions League outings, while he has struck eight times in 10 league encounters.

Nunez only arrived at Benfica from Almeria last September, and the Uruguay international has three-and-a-half years left to run on his contract with the Eagles.
