Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger thinks that his full-backs have progressed thanks to taking part in a full pre-season.
Young defenders Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs have been ever-present in the Premier League in a Gunners defence that started the season with three successive clean sheets.
Wenger believes that both players will continue to turn in consistent performances thanks to their hard work during the summer.
The Gunners boss told the club's official website: "This year they have benefited from the fact they had a good preparation.
"Carl has as well gained one year's experience compared to last season. Once you know that you can express yourself and then you see that in every game there is more coming out of him.
"Gibbs was out a lot but now he has found stability in his performances. I am very happy with his performances because he is like Carl, in every game he gets stronger."
Both defenders have been named in the Arsenal squad for their next match, a Champions League tie against Greek Super League winners Olympiakos.
