Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has claimed that his side must finish above Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season because he 'hates' them.

Fourth-placed Gunners closed the gap to six points on their local rivals after last weekend's 5-2 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

"Currently we are in fourth place and that is the minimum for us because this club has to be in the Champions League every year," Szczesny is quoted as saying by The Sun.

"After the Tottenham game we reduced the gap to them a little bit. It is obvious that it is my ambition to finish the season in front of them because I hate them."

Arsenal travel to Liverpool in the league later today (Saturday).
