Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has played down his side's chances of winning the FA Cup this season.
The Gunners will face holders Wigan Athletic in the semi-finals next month after the Latics shocked Manchester City with a 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium yesterday.
With Hull City and Sheffield United making up the last four, Wenger acknowledged that his side were favourites but stressed that the unpredictable nature of the competition means that they are not guaranteed to end their nine-year trophy drought.
"The cup is the cup. What we have learned is that the consistency of Wigan shows that they have the quality to deal with the pressure in the cup," Wenger is quoted as saying by PA.
"They created of course a huge surprise so we are warned that only a top level performance will get us through.
"If you want to say that we will be favourites, I agree with you, but being favourites doesn't win you games - performances win you games and that's what we have to focus on."
The Gunners have not picked up any silverware since they won the FA Cup back in 2005.
