Tom Aldred extends Accrington Stanley contract

Accrington Stanley defender Tom Aldred has signed a new two-year contract with the League Two club.

The 22-year-old, who started the club's final 12 matches of the season, will now remain at the Crown Ground until at least 2015.

"If we can start this season as we finished the last then we've got every chance of being right up there," he told PA Sport.

"I definitely don't think this club will be in the situation it was in last year and I definitely think it's a club on the up - I'm really excited."

Accrington finished 18th in League Two last season.
