Natalia Sheppard loses out to Carolin Golubytskyi in overtime in last 16

British fencer Natalia Sheppard has been knocked out of the women's individual foil after losing in overtime to German Carolin Golubytskyi.

Golubytskyi edged the first period 2-0 before Sheppard fought back and won the second 5-2. The two then drew the third period 12-12 before the German won the extra point in overtime.

Sheppard also received a yellow during the bout for unnecessary bodily contact.
