Ryan Moore receives Flat Jockey of the Year accolade

English jockey Ryan Moore has been named by his peers as Flat Jockey of the Year.

The 31-year-old claimed 14 victories at the top level this year, including a memorable performance to lift the prestigious Melbourne Cup.

Moore was also handed a Special Recognition Trophy by his colleagues at the awards ceremony in Birmingham.

Elsewhere, AP McCoy picked up the Jump Jockey of the Year award for 2014.
