Great Britain's Tonia Couch takes 10m silver in FINA World Series

Great Britain's Tonia Couch is pipped to 10m platform gold at the FINA World Series in Kazan by China's Ren Qian.

Great Britain's Tonia Couch won a career-best silver in the FINA World Series women's 10m platform final in Kazan on Saturday.

Couch just missed out on gold by finishing 1.45 points behind China's Ren Qian, while another Chinese, Si Yajie, completed the podium.

Couch, who has won bronze on six previous occasions, led after the first four rounds but was overtaken at the death because of Ren's final-dive score of 89.60, the highest of any dive in the final.

Couch's second place means that she finishes in fourth overall in the competition.

China also won gold in the day's other two finals, with Tai Xiaohu and Chang Yani triumphing in the mixed 10m synchro and Cao Yuan landing the men's 3m springboard title.
