Tom Daley believes that a bronze medal is his most realistic hope when he takes part in the 10m platform final tonight.

Team GB's Tom Daley has expressed his belief that a bronze medal is the best that he can hope for in tonight's 10m final.

Daley qualified for the final in fourth place and is keen to capture his first Olympic medal having just missed out in the synchronised event last week.

However, the 18-year-old believes that Chinese duo Qiu Bo and Lin Yue have all but got gold and silver wrapped up already, and that bronze would feel like a gold medal to him anyway.

"With the men's platform bronze is almost gold and then anything above that is platinum and beyond," Daley said.

"It's going to be very tough but in diving you just don't know what is going to happen. The Chinese have been very consistent and they seem to be pretty unstoppable at the minute.

"We'll have to see what happens tonight."

The diving final is due to take place at 8.30pm tonight.
