Scotland's Grace Reid has said that the pressure of diving at a home Commonwealth Games does not make her nervous.
Although just 18 years old, Reid is competing at her second Commonwealths after making her debut as a 14-year-old in Delhi.
Reid made her bow at this year's Games last night in the 1m springboard final. The loudest roar of the evening came when she was about to perform her last dive as she went into the final round in second place.
In the end, Reid's smaller difficulty rating on her final dive saw her finish in fifth place.
Speaking of the crowd at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, Reid told reporters: "They were just great and I saw so many Scottish flags so I was feeling well proud.
"I thought it would [make me nervous], but it actually didn't. It was the nicest feeling to know that everyone was there and everyone was literally just lifting me up off the board."
This morning, Reid booked her place in the 3m springboard final later tonight with the 10th-best score of the preliminary round.
