Lee: 'European Games experience will be invaluable'

Matty Lee believes that the opportunity to represent Great Britain at this summer's European Games will prove invaluable to his career.

Last year, Lee was forced to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games with an elbow injury, but the Yorkshireman is keen to make up for lost time when the Games get underway in Baku on June 12.

The 17-year-old said: "I am extremely excited to be part of Team GB for Baku 2015. This is the first ever European Games so adds to how prestigious the Games will be.

"I had to miss out on the Commonwealth Games last year because of injury so I think this opportunity to experience a multi-sports environment first hand will be so valuable for my career."

Earlier this year, Lee won 10m synchro gold with James Denny at the British Diving Championships.
