Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield miss out on a medal as they finish a disappointing seventh at the Diving World Cup.

Tom Daley and diving partner Peter Waterfield have failed to win a medal in the 10m platform event at the World Cup in London.

The team have not competed together in a competition since July 2011 and an error caused them to miss out on claiming a medal at the Aquatics Centre.

Daley admitted that a risk was taken in the final but praised the impact of the home fans during the duo's debut at the venue.

"The 4.5 somersault is one of our newest dives and it's either make of break," the 17-year-old told BBC Sport.

"It's helped us before, to win the World Series event [in Sheffield], but today wasn't our day.

"The crowd really do help you through the competition and in the first two dives it really did give us that extra buzz and it's going to do that even more in the Olympic Games so we're going to look forward to that."

Daley recently responded to criticism from a Team GB coach for the amount of media work he has done.
