Siyi Xie won China's fifth consecutive gold medal in the men's 1m springboard final at the World Championships in Kazan today.

The sportsman took the lead after the fourth round in Russia, moving ahead of Mexico's Jahir Angel Ocampo Marroquin.

After that point, Xie remained on top while Ukraine's Illya Kvasha moved from fifth place after round three to finish second and become the first ever non-Chinese diver to earn multiple medals in the 1m springboard at the Worlds.
