Phil Taylor sets up World Matchplay final against James Wade

Taylor sets up Wade final

Phil Taylor cruised past Ronnie Baxter to set up an enticing World Matchplay final against James Wade.

Taylor scored an impressive ten 180s and finished with a three-dart average of 103.39 to defeat Baxter 17-10.

The Power believes his work ethic allows him to carry on performing at the top level of the game.

He told Sky Sports News: "I'm one of the luckiest men alive. I love all sport and will be watching everything at the Olympics, but to be where I am, stepping on the stage tomorrow winning £50,000 is just remarkable.

"I have not stopped working hard, training over in Tenerife in all temperatures, and performances like tonight are the rewards. Trust me, winning a guaranteed £50,000 like that is better than an orgasm."

James Wade will be Taylor's opponent in the Blackpool final on Sunday night after winning a thriller against Terry Jenkins by 17 legs to 15.
