Chris Froome increases Tour de France lead

Team Sky's Chris Froome extends his lead in the Tour de France with a second-placed finish in this afternoon's individual time trial.

Britain's Chris Froome has increased his lead in the general classification at the Tour de France to over three minutes with a second-placed finished in today's stage.

The individual time trial was won by world champion Tony Martin, with the yellow jersey holder finishing just 12 seconds behind.

The stage 11 result leaves the Team Sky leader 3:25 ahead of Movistar's Alejandro Valverde.

Earlier in the stage, Mark Cavendish reportedly had urine thrown at him.
