Jon-Allan Butterworth misses out on C5 time trial medal

Jon-Allan Butterworth fails to clinch a medal for Great Britain in the men's C5 individual time trial after finishing 13th.

Great Britain's Jon-Allan Butterworth has finished second from bottom in the men's C5 individual time trial, with Ukraine's Yegor Dementyev picking up the gold medal.

The Brit, who secured silver in the 1km time trial at the velodrome last week, finished the course in a time of 36:56.39.

Butterworth has revealed that he was slightly hampered by a graze on his knee and an injury to his right arm, which was suffered after a British tandem clipped him on his bike yesterday.

Dementyev snatched the gold medal for his nation after recording a time of 32:12.98, while China's Liu Xinyang grabbed the silver medal after completing the race in 32:21.03.

Australia's Michael Gallagher picked up the bronze medal with a time of 33:12.03.
