Bradley Wiggins: "What a month"

Bradley Wiggins believes that he will never be able to "top" his achievements this summer.

The 32-year-old, who became the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France in 100 years last month, rounded off a successful few weeks by winning an Olympic gold medal in the men's time trial this afternoon.

"I can't put into words. It wouldn't do it justice," he told BBC Sport. "To win an Olympic gold in your home city was phenomnel. The noise was amazing and I don't think my sporting career will ever top that.

"What a month. I've won the Tour de France and a gold medal. It won't get any better than that."

Wiggins went on to confirm that he intends to compete at the 2016 Games in Brazil.
