McGlynn, Haston claim Scotland's first medal of the Commonwealth Games

Aileen McGlynn and Louise Haston have won Team Scotland's first medal of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, taking silver in the women's Para-sport sprint B2 tandem.

"To win Scotland's first medal of the games on home soil, in front of a home crowd, with a saltire on my back is fantastic. The noise that was coming from the crowd really spurred us on," McGlynn told reporters.

"Considering this is my first sprint competition I am delighted to come away with a Commonwealth Games Silver medal. I can't wait until Sunday to hear that home crowd cheer us on for the 1,000m time trial," added Haston.

Gold was taken by Team England's Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott.
