Laura Trott wins omnium silver

Britain's Laura Trott had to settle for silver in defence of her women's omnium title at the Track Cycling World Championships in Minsk.

The 20-year-old Olympic champion lost out to the USA's Sarah Hammer, who had been the runner-up at London 2012.

Hammer finished the six-event competition with 20 points - four better than Trott, who finished on 24.

Australia's Annette Edmondson took bronze on 26.
