Sir Bradley Wiggins pulls out of Tour of Switzerland with leg injury

Sir Bradley Wiggins suffers leg injury

Sir Bradley Wiggins has been forced to withdraw from Team Sky at the Tour of Switzerland after suffering a leg injury.

The Olympic champion injured himself in a crash just moments before reaching the end of the race's fourth stage on Tuesday.

"He's suffered some bad bruising on the left side of his right thigh muscle, which is restricting his movement," BBC Sport quotes Team Sky doctor Steve Baynes as saying.

Wiggins, who is due to compete at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in July, revealed earlier this month that he is unlikely to ride in this year's Tour de France.

The prestigious race begins in Yorkshire on July 5.
