Bradley Wiggins sets sights on Rio 2016

Sir Bradley Wiggins has set his sights on winning gold at the 2016 Olympic Games.

The four-time gold medallist, who recently missed out on Team Sky's Tour de France squad, will compete for England at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

However, Wiggins has already turned his attention to Rio in two years' time, with the chance to overhaul Sir Steve Redgrave's current tally.

"I'd love to get the five gold medals," the 34-year-old told reporters ahead of the men's 4,000m team pursuit, which gets underway on Thursday. "Five sounds much better than four and Steve Redgrave was such a hero. I never dreamed I'd get anywhere near his record."

Wiggins revealed earlier today that he will not be taking part in road races at the Commonwealth Games.
