England cyclist Emma Pooley: 'Time trial course suits me'

England cyclist Emma Pooley has said that the course for the individual time trial suits her more than the Delhi course did four years ago.

The 31-year-old, who has announced that she will retire at the end of the Commonwealth Games, finished sixth in the Olympics two years ago.

She told BBC Sport: "I always race the time trial just on feeling. You know you are pushing hard enough when it hurts, and you've just got to ride hard for as long you can. This course suits me a lot better than the Delhi course of four years ago, which was just a dead flat bit of motorway.

"Whatever happens this week I can retire content with what I have achieved in this sport. I never even expected to be a cyclist, so I can be pleased with what I have done."

Pooley won a silver medal in the time trial at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
