Susan Powell wins gold in women's individual C4 pursuit

Susan Powell has won gold for Australia in the women's individual C4 pursuit, beating American Megan Fisher in the final.

The American led in the early stages of the race, but Powell came through strongly to take the gold medal in a time of 4:05.200. Fisher went over the line with a time of 4:07.147.

In the bronze medal race, Powell's fellow Australian Alexandra Green beat Canadian Marie-Claude Molnar with 4:07.921 to 4:12.398.

The result means that Australia have won four golds so far on the opening day of the Paralympics.
