Kieran Modra smashes B pursuit world record

Kieran Modra has won individual B pursuit gold for Australia in a world record time.

Modra and his pilot Scott McPhee beat fellow Australian Bryce Lindores with a time of 4:17.756 compared to Lindores's 4:22.269.

In the bronze medal race Ireland's pair of James Brown and Damien Shaw lost to Spain and could only manage fourth.

Ireland's time of 4:26.075 was just over two seconds behind Miguel Angel Clemente Solano and Diego Javier Munoz.
