Surrey snatch late victory over Middlesex Panthers

Surrey emerge victorious as their T20 Blast clash with Middlesex Panthers goes to the wire.

Surrey snatched a last-gasp victory over Middlesex Panthers off the final ball in front of a packed Lord's crowd in Thursday's T20 Blast showdown.

Panthers captain Eoin Morgan was the evening's top scorer on 43, but his side crumbled in the final five overs to post a disappointing 137-8.

Kevin Pietersen, Rory Burns and Azhar Mahmood all made 28 for Surrey, but regular wickets, including three late on, kept Middlesex in the game until the death.

Surrey required five off the last over to secure the win, and Dan Christian kept Middlesex's hopes alive until the final delivery, which Zafar Ansari wrapped up to seal the win.
